What Carlee is

Carlee is a daily online car-guessing game that you can play in your web browser. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information may be involved when you use the Carlee website and how that information is handled.

Carlee is operated as an independent project by Monscrul, an independent developer.

Accounts (optional)

You can play Carlee without an account. Progress then stays in your browser on that device only.

If you choose to sign in, Carlee offers optional accounts through Google or email and password. Sign-in is provided by Supabase, a third-party authentication and database service. When you create or use an account, Supabase may process information such as:

• Your email address
• Authentication tokens and session data needed to keep you signed in
• For Google sign-in, basic profile details Google shares with the app (such as name and profile picture), subject to your Google account choices
• An optional display name you choose in Carlee (shown in the navbar instead of your email). If you do not set one, we may show a name from your Google profile or the part of your email before the @ sign

If you use the “Forgot password?” option, or ask us to resend a confirmation email, Supabase sends that email to the address on your account. Carlee does not see or store your password.

That account information is used to identify you, keep you signed in across visits, and sync the game data described below. We do not sell it.

Information we collect directly

Besides optional account sign-in, Carlee does not currently provide a contact form, newsletter signup, or other website form that asks you to submit personal information.

If you choose to email us (for example from the Contact page), you will share whatever information you include in that message, such as your email address and the content of your inquiry. That information is used only to respond to you.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, when you visit Carlee your browser makes requests to the server that hosts the site (for example, to load pages, stylesheets, scripts, and the car catalog). Hosting providers commonly keep standard technical logs that may include:

• IP address
• Browser and device information (often via the User-Agent string)
• Date and time of the request
• Pages or files requested
• Referring URL, if provided by your browser

Carlee also uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights on the production site. These tools run on Vercel’s own infrastructure (not advertising networks) and help understand which pages are visited and how fast the site loads.

Web Analytics typically records page views, such as the page path, referrer, and general browser or device information. Speed Insights records performance metrics known as Core Web Vitals (for example how quickly the page becomes usable). They are not used to serve ads. Analytics events are not used as a Carlee login system; account data is handled separately through Supabase when you sign in.

How information is used

Information related to your visit or account may be used to:

• Serve and operate the Carlee website and game
• Authenticate you when you choose to sign in
• Sync Daily progress and statistics across your devices when you are signed in
• Maintain security and diagnose technical issues (for example, via hosting logs)
• Understand traffic and page performance through Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights
• Respond to messages you send by email

We do not sell personal information.

Game data on your device and in the cloud

Carlee saves gameplay in your browser’s localStorage so that you can refresh or close the page without losing an unfinished game. The stored data may include:

• Your in-progress or completed Daily game for the current date (the secret car, your submitted guesses, and whether the game is won, lost, or still going)
• Your in-progress Unlimited game, if you have one
• Daily statistics: games played, wins, current streak, max streak, and the date of your last completed Daily puzzle

When you are not signed in, this data stays on your device. It is not tied to a name or email. Clearing site data resets local progress, and another browser or device shows separate progress.

When you sign in, Carlee syncs your Daily statistics and today’s Daily game progress to Supabase so you can continue on another device with the same account. Unlimited mode remains device-local and is not synced to your account. On first sign-in from a device, existing local Daily progress and stats may be uploaded and merged with your account data (the further-along record is kept; histories are not added together).

When you sign out, Carlee clears this device’s local game saves and statistics so the next person using the same browser does not inherit your local progress. Your account data in Supabase is not deleted by signing out; signing back in restores it from the cloud.

You can delete local data at any time by clearing site data for Carlee in your browser settings. To request deletion of account-related data stored with Supabase, contact us at the email below.

Cookies and similar technologies

Carlee’s own game code does not set cookies for advertising. The localStorage described above is not a tracking cookie; it is used to keep your own game state on your device. When you sign in, Supabase stores a session in your browser (typically via localStorage) so you can stay signed in across visits. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights load scripts from Vercel when you visit the production site; they are used to measure visits and performance, not to show ads. Your browser may still store ordinary temporary technical data needed to load pages (such as cached files).

If additional cookies or similar technologies are added later, for example for advertising or preferences, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe them.

Third-party services, analytics, and advertising

As of the effective date of this policy, Carlee uses:

• Vercel for hosting, Web Analytics, and Speed Insights. Vercel may process visit and technical data under Vercel’s Privacy Policy.
• Supabase for optional authentication and synced Daily game data. Supabase may process account and gameplay data under Supabase’s Privacy Policy.
• Google, if you choose Sign in with Google. Google’s handling of your Google account data is described in Google’s Privacy Policy.

Advertising (including Google AdSense): Carlee does not currently use Google AdSense or other advertising networks. If advertising is enabled in the future, this policy will be updated to describe the partners involved, the kinds of data they may collect, and how you can learn more about their practices (including any available opt-out mechanisms).

Data retention and security

Local game data remains in your browser until you clear it, sign out (which clears local game data on that device), or your browser removes it. Account credentials and synced Daily progress are retained in Supabase while your account exists and as needed to provide the service. Hosting providers may retain server logs for a limited period according to their policies. Emails you send are retained as long as needed to handle your request.

Reasonable care is taken to keep the site and related communications secure, but no method of transmission or storage on the internet is completely secure.

Children’s privacy

Carlee is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Carlee website. If you believe a child has provided personal information (for example by creating an account or emailing us), please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, for example if new features, analytics, or advertising are added. When changes are made, the effective date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of Carlee after an update means you should review the revised policy.
